Janesville--Maurice L. Parker, age 82, of 317 Rockport Rd., passed away unexpectedly late Tues. evening. Sept. 16, 1997, in Beloit Memorial Hospital Emergency Department. He was born Feb. 8, 1915, in Hancock, WI, the son of the late William and Mary (Brown) Parker. He attended schools in the Hancock area and was a graduate of high school in 1933. He was employed for many years until his retirement in 1977. On Nov. 14, 1936 he married the former Evelyn E. Seeley; she preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 1994. After his retirement, Maurice and Evelyn enjoyed travelling together to many places of interest and especially enjoyed their many camping trips with friends in a camping club. When Evelyn's health forced them to remain closer to home, they took great pride in their gardens, planning each one out carefully and with much care. Even though his health was declining, he was able to complete his garden this year, and it was beautiful! Maurice was a member of the A.F.& A.M. Masonic Lodge, was a member of the W.P.&L. Pioneer Club, and had seved his fellow workers as a shop steward for many years.

He is survived by his 4 daughters: Patricia L.(Don) Ginchoff of Largo, Fl., Nita R. (Maynard) Zylstra of Oak Forest, Il, Deborah J. (Lawrence) Vogt of Janesville, and Danette J. (Patrick) McKearn of Beloit; 2 sisters-in-law, Lucretia Parker of Janesville, and Esther Parker of Waupaca WI; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by 8 brothers and a sister. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the North Deerfield Cemetery in Hancock, WI. The Whitcomb Funeral Home is assisting his family with the arrangements.
