"Mrs. Belle Palmer Kiefer, 75, died Jan. 18, 1954, in her home, 86 Lester Ave., Ilion, after a long illness. She was born June 27, 1878, in Richfield Springs and her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Ely Palmer. She lived in Richfield Springs until a young woman. Her husband, Charles F. Kiefer, died 12 years ago. She had been a partner in the Beth-El rest Home for the past six years, and was a charter member of the Ilion Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Surviving are two sons, Charles of Boston and Paul of San Francisco, and four grandchildren. The funeral was held Thursday, from the Applegate Funeral Home, the Rev. Frederick Spence, Utica, and the Rev. John Harmon, local pastor, officiated. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Richfield Springs, in the Spring."
