Irene Palmer, 83, of Springfield died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospice.
She was born Jan. 22, 1910, in Palmyra, the daughter of Truman and Mae Crawford Padget. She married John Palmer in 1927 in Springfield; he died in 1974. Also preceding her in death were three grandchildren and two brothers, Dale and Glen Padget.
Mrs. Palmer was a member of Third Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Ruth Collier and Juanita Hodack; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ivan Padget; and a sister, Mary Jane Strode.
