Ann was the daughter of John M. Pace and Sarah Beckley. She first married John A. Allison on October 23, 1847, in Franklin County, Kentucky. Together, Ann and John were the parents of son, Ezra, and daughters, Emma, and twins, Fannie and Sallie. After John's untimely death at the young age of 32, Ann married the widower, Able Armstrong, on October 13, 1859, in Franklin County, Kentucky. Ann and Able were the parents of one son, Lee.
