Mrs. Rose Polak, 87, a Manitowoc resident, died Monday afternoon, Oct. 17, at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc.
Private family services will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo J. Schmitt will offiicate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Polak, nee Rose Hlavachek, was born Aug. 24, 1896, in the Town of Cato, Manitowoc, Wis., daughter of the late Joseph and Anna Oswald Hlavachek. She was married to John Polak, April 26, 1921, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. The couple came to Manitowoc to reside in 1940. Her husband preceded her in death Feb. 22, 1960. Mrs. Polak was a member of Christian Women of Holy Innocents Catholic Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Grace Polak of Manitowoc; a grandson and his wife, Darryl and Judith Polak of Delafield, Wis.; a stepbrother, George Hlavachek of Albany, Wis., a stepsister, Mrs. Caroline Bacik of Jackson, Mich. and four great grandchildren, Deborah, Jennifer, Jason and Jeremy. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Shimek and four stepbrothers, Rev. Joseph, John, Steve and Charles Hlavachek.
There will be no Tuesday visitation at Pfeffer Funeral Home.
