Anthony John Joseph Oxford, age 16, of Versailles, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 13, 2006 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was born August 4, 1990 in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of John M. and Melissa K. Jeffrey Oxford. Anthony was a sophomore at Morgan County R-II High School in Versailles, played on the high school baseball team, and in the summer the Junior Babe Ruth League. He attended Family Worship Center in Versailles and was active in their CORE Ministries. He is survived by his parents, John M. and Melissa K. Oxford of the home; one brother, Zachary Oxford of the home; paternal grandparents, Keith "Rick" and Lynn Oxford of Versailles; maternal grandparents, Richard and Sherry Horner of Versailles; his paternal great-grandfather, Eugene Cunningham of New York, New York, numerous other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, at the Family Worship Center in Versailles, with Rev. Danny Owsley officiating. Interment will be in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Family Worship Center Youth Center. To send sympathy e-mails for the family visit Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
