Cathleen was a graduate of Draughons Junior College where she had received her Business Degree, had been a Customer Service Representative for Century Link and had been employed for 17 years and was a member of Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Coleman Owens.
Survivors in addition to her father, Billy Clyde Owens and his wife, Eliza of Vansant, Va., include one son, William Aaron Bishop of Johnson City, Tenn.; one sister, Madeline Daniel Grindstaff and her husband Daniel of Johnson City, Tenn.; one brother, Sammy Dean Owens and wife Missy of Vansant, Va. She was also survived by one nephew, Ethan Owens and one niece, Samantha Owens both of Vansant, Va.
Funeral services for Cathleen Owens Bishop will be at the Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church on Leemaster in Vansant, Va., Monday, April 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Elders Russell Hicks, Sean Hicks, Roger Coleman, Mark Justice, Ronnie Hensley, Jerry Overstreet and Teddy Honaker officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery on Scenic View Road, (Airport Road), Vansant, Va.
The family will receive friends, Sunday, April 28, 2013 after 6:00 p.m. at the Little Martha Old Regular Baptist Church, Vansant, Va. Evening services will be held at 7:00 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be Adam Russo, Hunter Grindstaff, Derrick Brown, Ethan Owens and uncles and cousins.
