This Afternoon

Services At Grave For
Central Ave. Resident

Funeral services are being held at the grave in Riverside Cemetery at 4 o'clock this afternoon for Thomas Edward Overshiner Jr., 45-year-old resident of Central Avenue and former Coca-Cola Bottling Company plant manager.

Services this afternoon are being conducted by Dr. Willaim S. Bolles, pastor of the First Methodist Church, where Mr. Overshiner was a member, and Dr. A. C. Johnson, former pastor of the Hopkinsville church now stationed at Bowling Green.

Mr. Overshiner's death at the home early last night was attributed to a self-inflicted bullet wound. He lived for only a few minutes after the shooting in his room about 6 p.m.

Mr. Overshiner was born in Hopkinsville June 3, 1904, and was reared here. He attended city schools and graduated from Morton Elliott College at Elkton in 1924. He was married on June 28, 1924, to Miss Mary Crouch of Elkton.

Survivors include the widow; one daughter, Miss Martha Anne Overshiner; the mother, Mrs. Annie C. Overshiner; one sister, Mrs. James F. Mann of Clarksville; a brother, Alex Rudy Overshiner of Champaign, Ill.; one uncle, A. C. Overshiner; an aunt, Miss Leigh Overshiner; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Overshiner had been connected for a number of years with the local Coca-Cola plant, which his father, the late T. E. Overshiner Sr., built. The older Mr. Overshiner died Jan. 5, 1947.

Pall bearers for this afternoon's services at the grave will be John Hanbery, Thomas C. Hammond, Judge Ira D. Smith, Hughes H. Combs, Howard Lebkuecher, and J. C. Knight of Columbia, Tenn.
