ROSE EVELYN ERB
A funeral for Rose Evelyn Erb of Forest Grove will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Fuiten-Rose Mortuary Chapel in Forest Grove. She died in a Hillsboro hospital Saturday of causes related to age. She was 82.
Mrs. Erb, whose maiden name was Olsen, was born on Oct. 10, 1909, in Iron Mountain, Mich. In 1933, she married Roy Erb and they lived in Wisconsin until moving to Forest Grove in 1937.
They owned and operated Roy and Rose's Tavern for six years and in 1949, they bought the Badger Cafe in Forest Grove. They operated the cafe until retiring in 1975.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ Congregational in Forest Grove, the Royal Neighbors of America and the Forest Grove Elkettes.
Her husband died in 1976. Surviving are her daughters, Vivian Gregory of Newberg and Joy Eversole of Forest Grove; son, Edgar of Forest Grove; brothers, Martin Olsen of Seattle and Arling of Eugene; sister, Louella Shelton of Forest Grove; four grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Rose E. Erb Memorial Fund, in care of the United Church of Christ Congregational, 2032 College Way, Forest Grove, Ore. 97116.
Vault entombment will be in the Forest View Mausoleum in Forest Grove.
