RACINE – Mrs. George Baltes, 85, died Friday night at her home, 740 Racine Street, following a short illness.
Mrs. Baltes, formerly Lucy Oley, a daughter of Gerard and Margaret Oley, was born in Racine, November 23, 1854, and always lived here. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Christian Mothers Society of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Baltes observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary in 1934.
Surviving are a son, Frank Baltes, of Racine; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas F. McGraw and Mrs. Charles Yanny of Racine, and Miss Helen L. Baltes of Chicago; besides five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Baltes died August 28, 1936.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. in the Heibering Funeral Home and at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, with Reverend J.S. Stier officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Avenue. Friends may call at the Heibering Funeral Home Sunday afternoon and until service time.
