Mrs. Harry M. Howard

Mrs. Fannie Oland Howard, widow of Harry M. Howard, of Feagaville, died at the Vindobona Convalescent and Rest Home Braddock Heights, Saturday morning at five o'clock, aged 78 years. She was a daughter of the late David Peter and Melinda Stull Oland. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran church, and was a charter member of the Women's Bible Class and the United Lutheran Church Women. She was also a member of the Ballenger Homemakers Club, and a member of the Grange. She served as a teacher and superintendent for the children's department in Sunday School and church.

Surviving her are eight children: Mrs. William Zimmerman, Adamstown; Mrs. Ellen Cramer, this city; Mrs. William Alsop, Dis. Hgts; Oland Howard, this city, Miss Ruth Howard, Philadelphia, Pa; Mrs. Forrest Buckingham, Silver Spring; Leon M. Howard, this city; Mrs. Kenneth Harman, New Windsor. One sister, Mrs. Willie Summers, South Bend, Ind.; one half-brother Sharretts Oland, this city; one half-sister, Miss Olive Oland, Martinsburg. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.

The body rests at the funeral home 106 East Church street where friends may call. The funeral will take place Tuesday at two o'clock. Interment will be in Mr. Olivet cemetery. Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Frederick County Cancer Society. M.R Etchison and Son, funeral directors.
