Marie Helen Ahlbrecht, 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., formerly of New Sharon, passed away at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Mo., on Dec. 24, 2009.

She was born the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Notar) Ogden, on Oct. 18, 1914, in Oskaloosa. She was a 1932 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. On Sept. 2, 1934, she married Ervin Arthur Ahlbrecht in Oskaloosa. He preceded her in death.

She lived most of her life in Mahaska County where she worked for 20 years as the office manager for Dr. Craig Davis in New Sharon. She was a pianist for churches, a member of the United Methodist Church of Chillicothe, Mo., and a member of the Red Hat Society.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, William (Bill) Ahlbrecht and Shari of Chillicothe, Mo., and Charles Ahlbrecht and Kaylynn of Parker, Colo.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, John (Mike) Ahlbrecht and daughter-in-law, Dixie; two brothers, Clarence Ogden and Leonard Ogden; two sisters, Lucy Phipps and Alice Carpenter; and one infant brother, Joseph Harry Ogden.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Mo. There will be a family visitation from 3 p.m. until service time on Sunday at church. Friends may call on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Mo. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Friends Cemetery in New Sharon. Memorial contributions may be made to Hedrick Medical Center Hospice or the Chillicothe United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home of mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Mo., 64601. Services under the direction of Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Mo.
