Daughter of Mary Pierce and Benjamin Odham.

Third wife of Luby S. Harper.

She married December 14, 1904, Luby Saunders Harper, son of Virginia Saunders and Delany Harper of Greene Co., NC.

Mary was listed in the 1920 US Census in Craven Co., NC, as Mary Harper, head, 42, widow; Lubie S. Harper, son, 12; Elizabeth Harper, dau, 9; Delaney Harper, dau, 4; Charles Harper, son, 2; and James Odham, brother, 44; all born in NC.

Mary died at age 48 years, widowed, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bern, NC. Last residence, Ft. Barnwell, Craven Co., NC. (Death certificate lists age as 45 years and year of birth as 1882.)

The children were orphaned in 1925, Luby, Mary, Delaney & Charles were all in the Oxford Masonic Orphanage in Granville Co. NC from 1925 until each turned 18 the youngest in 1936.

Luby and Mary had five children:

a. Infant daughter, born and died in April 1906

b. Luby Saunders Harper, Jr., born about 1908

c. Mary Elizabeth Harper, born about 1910.

d. Delaney Harper, b. 1916, d. 1930

e. Charles William Harper, b. ca 1918
