William Frederick Nydegger died at 6 o'clock Sunday evening at his home five miles west of Clarks Hill. His death was caused by trachoma. He was born in New York City March 17, 1834, from Swiss German parentage, and early in life moved with his parents to West Virginia, where he secured his education and afterwards followed school teaching and surveying and later became a successful farmer. In 1887, he moved to Indiana, where he followed the vocation of farming up to the time of his death. He was married to Mahale May, August 17, 1869, and is survived by his widow and eight children: William F., Lewis C., Oscar R. Nydegger, Mrs. George W. Shafer, Mrs. Harry Waddell, Mrs. I. L. Storm and Miss Bessie Nydegger, also one brother and one sister, Funeral services will be conducted from the M. E. church at Stockwell Wednesday at 2 p.m. by the Revs. Wilson and Leeson. Interment in the Johnson cemetery.
