Tillie Amelia Reber Tillie Amelia Reber, 94, formerly of the East Mountain section of Scranton and widow of Emil J. Reber, died Sunday at Christian Ministries Hospice, Griffin, Ga., where she had recently moved to be near her family.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Minnie Pencek Novitch. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and educated in Immanuel Lutheran schools. She was a 1954 graduate of the Hoyt School of Nursing. Before her retirement, she was employed as a licensed practical nurse in area hospitals and also worked as a private-duty nurse. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross for more than 30 years, a member of the South Side Seniors club,the RSVP-Retired Senior Volunteer Persons and the AARP, where she participated in the chorus.
She was a loving and caring person who will be greatly missed by her family and the many friends who admired her active, happy, fun-loving and lively spirit.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda and husband, Robert Yocum, Griffin; three grandchildren, Lori and husband, Thomas Ross, Monroe, N.C.; Linda Savor, Griffin; and Bobby and wife, Candas Yocum, Atlanta; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Abbey Ross and Emma Savor; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Novitch, Anna Karpovitch and Charlotte Baldwin, and five brothers, Julian, Jacob, Gustave, John and Edward Novitch.
