SPRINGFIELD - Chloe N. Birdsong of Springfield died Feb. 4 of lung cancer. She was 68.
Birdsong was born Dec. 24, 1937, in Kansas City, Mo., to Chester and Gail Harding Norvell. She married James Birdsong on Nov. 7, 1956, in Kansas City. He died in 1986.
She had lived in Springfield for 18 years and previously lived in Grants Pass, Gold Hill, Medford and Hood River. She was a caregiver for 30 years. She enjoyed shopping, trips to Reno, cooking, canning, reading, puzzle books, cats and dogs.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Thompson of Springfield; a son, Shawn Langley of Springfield; a brother, Chester "Sonny" Norvell of Lathrop, Mo.; a sister, Eloise Eberts of Missouri; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A son, David Birdsong, and twin daughters, Ronna Ver Bryck and Donna Carter, died previously.
No service is planned. Heritage Memorial in Portland is in charge of arrangements.
