Leander John Norris was the third child born to Leander Grady Norris and Beulah Edith Wolford on Nov. 15, 1927, Hunt Co., TX. He was killed in a construction accident Dec. 3, 1962, Ontario, CA. L.J., as he was called, married Virginia Lee Jackson July 25, 1948, Hunt Co., TX. Together they had five children, two daughters and three sons. A native of Texas, the family had lived in Ontario for a year. They moved to Ontario from Kent, WA where they had lived since about 1957/58. Prior to moving to the West Coast, they lived in west Texas were L.J. worked in the oil-field business. At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Virginia Norris, two daughters, Mary Ann and Linda, three sons, Johnny, Jody and Jimmy all of the home; his mother, B. Edith Norris of Pampa, TX; two brothers; Louis Norris of Childress, TX and Bill Norris of Pampa; five sisters, Katherine Harper of Pampa, TX, Dorothy Hewett of Mountainair, NM, Lela Beasley of Denver City, TX, Mildred Kilcourse of Pampa, TX and Naida Green of Kansas City, MO. He was preceded in death by his father Leander Grady Norris in 1953. L.J. was a wonderful brother and lots of fun to be around. He was a wonderful, loving father and brother and will be greatly missed.
