He was the owner operator of Norman Furniture Company in Spruce Pine, NC for many years and was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughters: Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Wilson and husband David of Denver, NC, Billie June Hollifield and husband Coy of Bakersville and Brenda Rose and husband Mark of Newport News, VA; also nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Kate Stewart and five brothers: Clarence, Charlie, Claude, Jessie and Brown Norman.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the staffs of Abernathy Laurels and Catawba Regional Hospice for the special care they provided for our father.
Funeral services will be 4:00 pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 in the Bear Creek Baptist Church with Chris Rathbone and Cass Buchanan officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
