He is survived by his wife, Loretta Austin Nix; two daughters, Carrie Weindorf, of North Little Rock and Kathy Nix (Pat), of St. Louis, Missouri; son, John Nix (Kathy), of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Christi Weindorf (Tom), Roy Weindorf (Lauren), Michael Weindorf, Ellen Nix, Laura Nix and Jonathon Nix (Jackie); and one great-grandchild, Nohl Weindorf.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday at Park Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 with full military honors.
