After graduation, Shirleen worked several years as a computer operator at the State Office Building in Topeka, Kansas. She then worked in data processing at Goodyear Tire in Topeka for eighteen years, at Landmark Hotels for two years, and retired in 2004 after fourteen years in the business office at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
In her spare time, Shirleen enjoyed quilting, card playing and computer games. She especially loved Saturdays when she could go fishing, tend her flowers, work in her garden and be outdoors enjoying the sunshine, fresh air and the songs of the birds.
She married Forest Morgan in 1958. They later divorced. On August 3l, 1987, in Topeka, she married Harry B. Prim, Jr. of Overbrook. He survives at their home east of Overbrook. She is also survived by two daughters, Marla Barnes and her husband, Larry, and Pam Lopez, all of Topeka; a step-daughter, Patricia Cooper and her husband, Marc and a step-son, Michael Prim and his wife, Kathy, all of Overbrook. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jason Lopez, Amanda Lopez, and Nicholas Lopez; five step-grandchildren, Curtis Cooper, Julie Welge, Kevin Cooper, Michael Richard Prim and Aubrie Dawn Prim; a great-granddaughter, Makena Lopez and a step-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Eldon Nightingale, Mack Nightingale and Terry Nightingale.

Shirleen M. Prim of Overbrook, was born June 11, 1939, passed away at her home April 20, 2009 with her husband, Harry, two daughters, Pam Lopes and Marla Barnes; step daughter, Kathy Prim by her side.
Funeral services will be at 10:00a.m. Friday, April 24, 2009 at the Overlook United Methodist Church. Mrs Prim will be in state at Greenwood-Roberts Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00p.m. Thursday evening.
