She was the daughter of William E. Nickell and Sarah Frances Smith. She had lived most of her life in Palo Pinto County. She was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Luke Ballenger; two step-daughters, Mrs. Henry Proctor, Weatherford; and Mrs. Robert Spurlock, Mineral Wells; 2 step-sons, Fritz and J. L. Ballenger, Mineral Wells; a brother Richard Nickell, Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Mrs. Edna Christian and Mrs. Lola Murray, Green Forest, Arkansas; Mrs. Fannie Williams, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Roxie Willard, Madera, Calfironia; 12 step-grandchildren; 7 step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers were Jim Hall, Don Bishop, Charles, Billy and Roy Ballenger, and Tommy McKinze.
