Mary John (Nickel) Dawson, 95, of Slaton passed away on Mon., March 24, 2003. She moved to Slaton from Miami, Texas in 1923.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, W.H. "Hammer"; a grandson, Kurt, and a great granddaughter, Sara. Survivors include five children; Bill of Lubbock, Pip of Slaton, Glyndon of Louisville, Ky., Judi Miles of Lubbock, and Teddy of Arlington, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Memorial services were held at the First Baptist Church of Slaton at 11 a.m. Thur., March 27, 2003.
