Loretta Faye Newton Blackburn, 86, of Winchester passed away Tuesday morning Aug. 29, 2006 at the White Hall Multicare Center. She was born Feb. 20, 1920 in White Hall the daughter of the late George Samuel "Sam" and Alma Elijah Anthony Newton. She married Richard C. Blackburn December 4, 1943 in Louisiana, Missouri. He preceded her in death June 10, 1997. Also preceding her was a brother Raymond Newton and a sister Leona Geidl.
Mrs. Blackburn was a 1937 graduate of White Hall High School. She worked as a switchboard operator in White Hall during World War 2, and then worked at Harding Floral Company. She was a home maker and helped her husband in their business as an agent for Continental Oil Company. She was a member of the American Legion Aux. and the First Baptist Church in Winchester.
Surviving is her daughter Monica (husband William R.) Lawson of Manchester, and a niece Judy LaBarge of Seattle, Washington.
Services were entrusted to Coonrod Funeral Home of Winchester, Illinois.
