Audra R. Newton, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 4:00 pm on Thursday, December 18, 2015, at her home. She was born on November 19, 1922, in Frankfort, the daughter of Charles & Alza (Wright) Pickering. On November 8, 1942, she married George R. Newton and he preceded her in death on January 5, 1996.

Audra was a homemaker. She had previously worked for Public Service and Lincoln Financial. Audra and George started Kokomo Glass Shop in 1949. Audra was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, and she enjoyed traveling, working, and tending her yard.

Audra is survived by her son, Brad R. (Cathy) Newton; grandson, Wes (Jessie) Newton; great-granddaughter, Marlee Newton, and great-granddog, Zephyr.

Audra was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Newton, and a son, Gregory Newton.

Private funeral services will be held at Stout & Son Funeral Home in Russiaville. Stout & Son Funeral Home in Russiaville is assisting the family with arrangements.
