Ellen Jean Ferrell age 94 passed away on January 5, 2016 after struggling with cancer at Highland Medical Center in Scottsboro, Alabama. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama and after graduating from high school married the love of her life, Jack Ferrell. They built their home in Bluff Park in 1953. Ellen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jack Ferrell; parents Archie & Pearl Newsome; brother Archie Newsome; daughter Linda Corkill and granddaughter April Corkill. Visitation will be on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with graveside services following at 11:00 a. m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
