Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Ms. Myers was born on June 1, 1949, in Natchez, MS the daughter of Amos and Clara Newman. She served a short time as a Marine, later working for many years at the Adams County Department of Human Services. After earning her LPN license, Peggy worked as a nurse in the NICU at Natchez Community Hospital. She later moved to Baton Rouge, LA, where she worked as an insurance compliance officer for the Louisiana Department of Insurance, retiring in 2014.
Peggy loved cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandsons. She also enjoyed spending time with her dogs as she was an animal lover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Clara Newman of Natchez, one sister Mary Louise Manley, of Alabama and one niece, Shannon Jamison of Natchez.
She is survived by her daughters, Melanie "Mitch" Myers and partner Jobe Nasca, of Baton Rouge, Jaki Robinson and husband Justin, and two grandsons Braxton Colby Robinson and Parker Jace Robinson all of Natchez; siblings, Amos Eugene Newman, Ida Mae Coley, Nancy L. Day, Elizabeth A. Jamison, Sandria F. Stevens, Marilyn J. Liebig, Carolyn D. Wethersby, and Betty J. Green.
