OBITUARY XENIA GAZETTE March 16 and 20, 1889: (condensed)
Mrs. Laura Newkirk Allison, wife of William Allison, died suddenly at her home on Allison Ave., last evening. She was taken sick last Sabbath night with pneumonia, and up to yesterday evening was doing as well as could be expected. But she was taken with a congestive chill, with heart failure, and sank rapidly, dying at about 6 o'clock.
Mrs. Allison was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Newkirk, and was born in this city, August 3rd 1825, and consequently was in the sixty-fourth year of her age. On May 23rd, 1845, she was united in marriage with William Allison, and thirty years of their married life have passed in the same house in which she died.
Mrs. Allison, besides her bereaved husband, leaves three daughters, Mrs. O.A. Kingsbury of Tusculum, and Misses Fannie and Carrie, who reside at home.
She leaves two sisters, Mrs. H.R. McClellan of this city, Mrs. E.J. Connable of Jackson, Michigan, and one brother, Benjamin Newkirk, also of Jackson.
.....The funeral of the late Mrs. William Allison took place at the family residence on Allison. At the conclusion of the services, the friends followed the remains to Woodland cemetery, where they were laid to rest.
