Lavina E. Brown, 85, of Danville, passed away at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Georgetown the daughter of Charles and Opal (Hall) Nevels. She was wed to Leonard Brown July 22, 1938, in Danville until his passing April 17, 1988.

She will be missed by: her grandchildren, Jack Coon of Danville and Deana Meeker of Danville; her great-grandchild, Lesley Coon of Danville; her nieces, Barb (Dean) Williams of Crown Point, Ind., and Vickie (Greg) Black of Tilton. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters and her daughters, Mary (Jack) Coon and Garnet (Carl) Ramsey.

Lavina enjoyed operating her antique shop on Vance Lane. She liked hunting for antiques. She also took pleasure in crocheting, quilting and crafts.
