Gertrude was born in Rummerfield, PA. She was born into the large family of Corabelle Swackhammer and Lewis Nesbit. Gertrude grew up in the Towanda area where she met her future husband, Regis Kelly. Gertrude was a loving mother to four children and seven grandchildren. From her I learned the importance of nurturing children to achieve their dreams. She always believed we were capable of any heights. She retired to California with her husband and lived there with her daughter for many years after her husband's death.
