Lois Gail (Nelson) Davenport, 82, of Fairview, Texas, died Nov. 6 following a lengthy illness. Born in Bone Gap and later a resident of Albion, Lois was the daughter of Lewis and Ottilie Nelson and sister and sister-in-law to Vernon and Iva Larue Nelson of Albion.

She was preceded in death by her other siblings, Eldon and Ronald Nelson, Wilhelmina Fairchild, Mary Anthony and Esther Henry, as well as by their parents.

Lois is survived by husband Richard Dow Davenport, two daughters; as well as nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family would like to express deep gratitude to the many memory care nurses and aides who cared for her the past four years and for the hospice nurses and aides who eased her transition over the past year. Donations may be made in Lois’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Lois’s favorite charity, the Presbyterian Children’s Homes & Services of Texas.
