CENTERVILLE — Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister Dorothy Louise Nash Durr, age 78, passed away peacefully of complications of pneumonia June 26, 2004.
She was born October 16, 1925, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Charles Ernest and Mary Jane Terry Nash. Dorothy grew up in El Paso, Texas, where she graduated from Austin High School. It was there that she met and married Wilson Charles Durr on March 2, 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Hawaiian Temple.
Mom was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints until she was physically unable. She served as ward Relief Society president and in a stake Relief Society presidency. She loved to help anyone and everyone. She also served in many other church callings during her active life.
Her greatest love was for her family, including her two dogs. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She taught all of us honesty, kindness, integrity and most of all, a love for Our Savior Jesus Christ.
She is survived by two sons; Charles W. (Pamela) of Centerville; and Russell A. of Layton; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Douglas (Leona) Nash of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Leonard Nash of Cheyenne, Wyo.; and one sister Gladys Evans of Vancouver, Wash. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Jack and Charles.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call one hour prior to services.
