Roy- Margaret ADA Nash Hazen, beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend passed away February 24, 2010 at Crestwood Care Center, with her family by her side.
Ada was born January 3, 1922 in Ogden, Utah to William Joseph Nash and Johanna Vandersteen. She grew up in the Ogden Area and attended Mound Fort Junior High where she served as the Student-body President. While attending the new Ogden High School she met the love of her life Jack Dean Hazen to whom she would later marry on November 7, 1941 in the Salt Lake Temple.
In 1950, they moved to Roy where they raised their five children. Jack passed away in 1995.
Mom had many jobs in her lifetime, but her favorite was working as a secretary at Weber State College.
She loved wild flowers, singing, knitting, and playing canasta with the "gang." Mom also enjoyed traveling; her favorite destination was the cabin on Hebgen Lake where she loved spending time with Dad, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was active in the LDS Church and served in the presidencies of many organizations. Mom had a special place in her heart for music, finding the most joy serving as chorister in both the Primary and the Relief Society.
We love you mom and will miss you, but find peace knowing you and dad now have your long awaited joyous reunion.
Ada is survived by her five Children, Brent, Blake (Colleen), Kay (Val) Heiner, Connie (Steve) Price, Bruce (Jody), her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Ruth (Phil) Jensen, Edna (Delbert) Brown, Frank (Melba) Hazen, Robert (Connie) Hazen, Lorene Nash, along with 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bill, and her husband Jack.
Funeral Services will be Monday, March 1, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at the Roy 4-5th Ward Chapel 5301 S. 2100 W Roy, Utah.
