She was born Jan. 20, 1948, in St. Charles, the daughter of Francis Bud Nacke and wife Bernice.
Before her retirement, René was employed as a clerk for Warrenton Veterinary Clinic. She assisted with the Animal Welfare Association of Warren County (AWA), saved and rescued many animals, her favorite being the Scotty. Ren^ loved to paint and draw.
She is survived by her husband, George Bass, Warrenton; mother, Bernice Nacke, O'Fallon; one daughter, Beki Watson; two sisters, Pat Behle and husband Charlie, New Melle, and Annette Jackson and husband Kurt; other relatives and many friends.
René was preceded in death by her father, Francis Bud Nacke; and one sister, Debbie Gillette.
