Private graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3700 River Blvd., for Florence Muriel Murray, 93, a long-time resident of Bakersfield who passed away on December 15, 2007. Mrs. Murray was born June 9, 1914 in Lake City, Minnesota. She was a resident of Kern County for 65 years, and worked as a secretary for her husband at I. Bruce Murray Insurance Adjusters for many years before working as a secretary for her son, Douglas, at Murray Petroleum Co. for the next several years. Mrs. Murray was a member of the Bakersfield Soroptomist Club and she volunteered for many years as a Gray Lady at Kern General Hospital. Florence is survived by two sons, Gardner A. Murray of Bass Lake, CA and his wife, Doris, and Douglas C. Murray of Bakersfield and his wife, Pamela; and a stepson, Bruce Murray and his wife, Marjorie of Bakersfield. Also surviving are numerous grand and great- grandchildren. The entire Murray family wishes to express their thanks to Hoffmann Hospice for all the excellent care given Mrs. Murray and the kindnesses extended to her and to the family.
