Francis J. Murray, 87, Michigan City, died at 11 a.m. Friday (Feb. 18, 2000) at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Catholic Church, with the Rev. Richard Ameling officiating. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre, Worth, Ill. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Carlisle Funeral Home, Michigan City.

He was born Sept. 15, 1912, in Chicago, to James and Esther Boland Murray. On Feb. 18, 1939, in Chicago, he married Lucille Grace O'Brien, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, James (Lynne) Murray, Chicago, and Dan (Nancy) Murray, Long Beach; two daughters, Sheila (Roger) Rave, Palos Heights, Ill., and Patricia (Richard) DeFreeuw, Flossmoor, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Murray graduated from St. Rita High School in 1930. He was a carpenter foreman for the city of Chicago at the Bureau of Engineering, retiring in 1974.
