Claude Ellis Murphy, 63, a Shelby County Hospital patient and a retired welder, died at 1:20 a.m. yesterday in John Gaston Hospital. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Memphis Funeral Home on Union with burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery on Benjestown Road, north of Frayser. He was a Baptist. He leaves four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Boughey of Louisville, Ky., and Miss Claudia Murphy, Mrs. Patricia Bricker and Mrs. Gail Jones, all of Memphis; a son, Dale Murphy of Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. S.A. Murphy and Miss Doris Sowell, both of Memphis, Mrs. Mary Ann Lueck of Long Island, N.Y., and Mrs. Clara Goulart of San Diego; two brothers, Ben Murphy of Memphis and Earl A.
