Born in Jersey City, Theresa Kauffman was a homemaker who worked in the Center at St. Michael's in Union City in their office and as a catechism teacher. She was active in PTA and the God Squad. Theresa enjoyed the music of Helen Reddy, Englebert Humperdink and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. In fact, she once suggested to the members at St. Michael's that they play a song by Emerson, Lake and Palmer at the next confirmation. This suggestion was not accepted. She was married to John Kauffman. Together they had three children. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Murphy of Illinois and survived by her sisters Mickey (aka Mary aka Joan aka Bridget), Carol, and Marilyn.
