Daughter of Thomas E. & Mary V. (Wilson) Murphy. The mother's newspaper obituary says she was survived by a husband and 3 little girls (which includes this daughter)

Death certificate says Miss Isabel died in Columbus on May 30, 1942, age 65 years, 7 months, 0 days, and spells out the birthdate as Oct. 30, 1876, which is the wrong year. We know she couldn't have been born in 1876 because her mother died in 1873. And she appears as Belle Murphy in the household of her parents on the 1870 census.

From Contirbutor #46870015 ~~~ 1870 federal census of Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia, Dwelling #1891 / Household #2098 (all MURPHY, all born in Georgia); Thos. (30) loom builder, no real estate but personal estate valued at $450; Mary (27) keeping house; Nelly (6); Belle (4); May (1 month); Johaan (? female, 56) at home; and Betsy (40) Black domestic servant.

Burial record in sexton's ledgers says Miss Isabel Murphy as born in Savannah, GA, died at residence (address 400 Tenth Street, Columbus) age 65 of carcinoma of the liver, and buried June 1, 1942 in the Old Cemetery section, the sexton was James B. Shores. (Age reported in record is incorrect)

Comment from Contributor #44643987 ~~~ Dates 1897 (sic) -- 1942, died age 45 (sic) years, buried in Kelley Lot, all from Sexton record cited in Linwood Cem. book by Dolores Autry, edited by Lea Dowd and others, Vol. 3. (Autry got her sexton record information from the sexton card file, which is an index. The card for this burial reports: Miss Isabel Murphy, female, born in Savannah, Ga., died at 400 -- 10 St., city, of cancer liver, age 65 (sic), and buried 6-1-1942 in the Old Cemetery. The card was made when C. W. Young was sexton, so in the 1950s)

Autry copied the burial date wrong (she put 6/4/1942, age 65), which repeats incorrect age also
