Celia moved to Tracy with her first husband Ezekiel Soto and had five children. Ezekiel passed away suddenly in a car accident. She met and married Edwin E. Dean in 1953 and had two more children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, three siblings, her husband Edwin E. Dean, her daughters, Graciela Soto, Celia Pontod, Dolores McNab and her son David Soto.
Celia is survived by two sisters, Grace Ayala, Carmen Munoz; and a brother Ralph Munoz. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She leaves behind three children: Richard Soto, Elizabeth White and Kathy Stanton; nineteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She enjoyed travel and spent her last vacation abroad. She also enjoyed taking trips with family. But, most of all, Celia enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially on warm summer days and holidays when she could enjoy her visits sitting in the kitchen or on the porch of her home. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016, beginning at 3:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Fry Memorial Chapel located at 550 South Central Ave., Tracy. Mass will be Tuesday, February 23, 2016, at 10:30 am at St. Bernard's Catholic Church located, Tracy, with burial following at Tracy Public Cemetery, Tracy, CA.
