Excerpt from: “The Love Letters of Addison Munch to Anna Rebecca Cullers”, by Margaret (Peggy) Boyce Miotto
The beginning introduction states: “The first thing I was struck with when I saw the original letters Addison wrote to Anna Rebecca Cullers was the beauty of his writing form. One could only imagine the careful hours he spent in so lovingly lavishing them with decorative flourishes. And, as if he were moved by some irresistible and spontaneous urge, artfully written poems appear within the pages of his letters, with adoring, scrolled repetitions of her name: “Anna Rebecca Cullers”.”
The history of their life together had a long courtship with a shortened marriage time and a sad and moving end. Peggy describes it in her “History of Addison and Anna Rebecca (Cullers) Munch: “Addison Munch: born Mar 6, 1822 in Fort Valley; died Nov 23, 1908, at 86 years, 8 months and 17 days old.
