Shirley Lois Shoemaker, 80, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 in Bowie.
Shirley was born April 26, 1936 in Satin, TX to Albert and Lois (Westbrook) Mullinax. She graduated from Cameron High School in 1954. Shirley married Billy Bartlett on Oct. 15,1955 in Cameron, and together they raised their family in Rockdale. In 1966 they moved to Weatherford, where she started her career with JC Penney that moved her to Fort Collins, CO and later to Juno, Alaska. Shirley worked as an administrative assistant for Fort Collins Independent School District. In 1984, she retired back to Weatherford where she met Loyd Shoemaker and they married in 2003 in Bowie. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Weatherford, and then the First Baptist Church of Bellevue.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lois Mullinax; husbands, Billy J. Bartlett and Loyd Shoemaker; brother, Alvin Mullinax; and sisters, Evelyn Needham and Ruth Martin.
Shirley is survived by her children, Keith Bartlett, of Mesa, AZ; Karen Bartlett of Bowie, Stacey Bartlett Heywood and husband, Tim, of Wellington, CO; grandchildren, Brandi Wolfe and husband, Nick, of Safford, AZ; Dean Hall, of Bowie; Nathan Carstens and wife, Megan, of Greeley, CO; Aimee Bartlett of Azle, Shanna Troncoso and husband, Andrew, of Fort Collins, CO, David Beecher and wife, Noel, of Bremertonm, WA; great-grandchildren, Madison Wolfe, Maya Troncoso, Leon Troncoso; sisters, Doris Buchanan, of Fort Worth, Peggy Jackson and husband, Chuck, of Coeur d'alene, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
