She left behind her husband and 6 children. She was only 33 years (less 13 days) old. She was buried on Feburary 8, 1890 with a funeral sermon at home on 1 Cor. 15:57.

Maria Louise Brockmeier is buried to the left (south) of Friedrich Wilhelm and Anna Marie Brockmeier in the Worden Lutheran Cemetery in Worden Illinois. After more than 100 years, the soft white marble stone that marks here grave is nearly unreadable. Some of the text reads as
