Mabel M. Anderson, 81, of Pen Argyl, formerly of Swiftwater, died Monday evening, March 28, in St. Lukes Hospital, Fountain Hill. She was the wife of Donald J. Jack Anderson, with whom she shared 63 years of marriage on December 23, 2004. Born May 14, 1923, in Bethlehem, she was a daughter of the late Moses S. Moyer and Christianna K. (Conrad) Ziegler Moyer Roth. She lived in Swiftwater from 1947 until 1970 when she and her husband moved to Hamburg. They moved back to Swiftwater in 1977 and lived there until June of 1998, when they moved to Chandler Estates in Pen Argyl. A 1941 graduate of Allentown High School, she was employed in the operations office of Fort Custer, Michigan, in 1944 during World War II. After the war, she worked in the advertising department of the former A.B. Wyckoff Department Store, Stroudsburg, and later was a postal clerk for the Swiftwater Post Office. She was involved in many volunteer organizations including member and past president of the Womens Society of Swiftwater United Methodist Church, the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and Luna County Historical Museum, Deming, N.M., and was active in the Rotary Anns.

Survivors: Husband; brother, Richard M. Moyer and his wife Doris of Bethlehem; godsons, Michael Moyer, Dennis Weaver; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Ella Bortz, Anna Weaver and Mary Reiss, and brothers, Charles Moyer, Robert Moyer and Harvey Moyer.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2, Rosemont Lutheran Church, 16th Avenue and W. Broad Street, Bethlehem, with Rev. Jack Steltzer officiating. Following the service, cremation will take place in H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

Private burial will be in St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Red Hill. Arrangements, William H. Clark Funeral Home, Stroudsburg.
