Rites held for Geneva (Odekirk) Mowrey were held Tuesday, July 13, 1965 at 1:00 PM in the Vernal 1st Ward chapel. Geneva Odekirk Mowrey, 92, died Saturday, July 10, 1965 at 5:00 PM.
She was born September 23, 1872 in Montpelier, Bear Lake, Idaho to John and Emma Lena "Emaline" (McCann) Odekirk. She married Thomas Uriah Mowrey, March 29, 1890 in Vernal, Uintah County, Utah. and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, Salt Lake City Utah. Uriah died February 14, 1952.
Mrs. Mowrey was a pioneer of the Uintah Basin. Survivors include four sons, RAY GEROLD MOWREY OF AND ROYCE VINCENT MOWREY both of Vernal Utah; ALVIN BENAIR MOWREY OF Midvale, Utah and EDGAR FERDINAND MOWREY of Lapoint, Utah. 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Prayer at the mortuary was given by Blaine Lee. Prelude and postlude music was played by Mable Stagg. Glade and Elizabeth Sowards sang "Sometime We'll Understand" accompanied by Mable Stagg. ROBERT ORRIN SWAIN (Son of Abner Nathaniel Swain and Permellia Jane Hatch) gave the invocation and Bishop Thomas F. Howells read the obituary and the program. ORVIL HATCH SWAIN (Son of Abner N Swain and Permellia Jane Hatch) was the first speaker and was followed by Virginia Goodrich and son Jerry Goodrich singing "Oh, My Father". Harmon S. Sowards then spoke and the closing song was "Going Home" sung by SHARLENE DUKE a great-granddaughter, accompanied by Virginia Goodrich. Can Massey gave the benediction.

Son, Edgar Ferdinand Mowrey (husband of Mildred Edna Swain Mowrey) dedicated the grave and Burial was in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.
The 1st Ward Relief Society took care of the flowers.

They had seven children:
