Georgia and her husband Henry moved to Riverview, FL in 1991 from Lake Mills, IA. They came to Manatee County in May 1995 from Riverview. Georgia was a school teacher in New York for eight years. She was a member of the National Federation of Women's Clubs, Meals on Wheels, National Republican Women, and the National Teachers Association.
Georgia received a bachelor's degree in education from the New York State Teachers College in Albany, NY. She was a member of the Congregational Church in Spencerport, NY, and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bradenton.
Survivors include sons Verne E. Mowers of Bradenton, DeForest A. Mowers of Spencerport, NY, and George Mowers of Sparks, NV; a brother, Lyle DeMocker of Rochester, NY; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Georgia was predeceased by her husband, Henry Deforest Mowers, in 1994 and her son, Berton "Bert" Mowers, in 1993.
All services will be in Spencerport under the direction of Walker Brothers Funeral Home. Interment will be at Whitehaven Memorial Park in Pittsford, NY. Shannon Funeral Home, Westview Chapel, is handling local arrangements.
