Sylvia Louise MOUNTS BREESE, 85, of Claysville, died Friday, June 23, 2006, in Hillsview Personal Care Home, Buffalo Township.

She was born June 27, 1920, in Washington County, a daughter of William H. and Sylvia Jane SCOTT MOUNTS.

Mrs. BREESE was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Society of Pleasant Grove.

She was a homemaker and was famous for her angel food cakes, which she baked from scratch.

On June 26, 1937, in West Virginia, she married Lloyd SPROWLS BREESE, who survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Cora BROWNLEE and Janet Meurl BROWNLEE, both of Claysville, and Linda Ruth BREESE of Washington; two brothers, Sherman and Dean MOUNTS, both of Claysville; a sister, Martha RINEHART of Claysville; 15 grandchildren, Susan LACOCK, Lloyd, Baum, William, John Scott and James BROWNLEE, Amy DILLIE, Joseph BROWNLEE, Karen EALY, Sherman Dean BROWNLEE, Pamela CARROLL, Bryan BROWNLEE, Kenny BREESE, Cora HAUER, and Tina STEWART; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased are four brothers, William, Melvin, Charles and Cephas MOUNTS; and a sister, Mildred APPLEGATE.

Friends will be received from 2 until 5 p.m., the time of services, Sunday, June 25, in Michael H. HEINRICH Funeral Home, 219 Main Street, Claysville, with the Rev. Meade LACOCK officiating. Private interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, West Finley, at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
