Barbara Jo Morris, 73, of Lafayette, passed away at 12:45 am Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at her residence.

She was born January 23, 1943, in Gas City, to the late Sidney and Catherine Hook Baker. After graduating from Mississinewa High School in 1961 she married Harold E. Morris on October 14, 1963 in Gas City. He passed away on May 14, 2010. Barbara Retired from St Elizabeth Medical Center as the Director of Medical Records. Barbara was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Altrusa Club of Lafayette, where she served as Past President, Randolph Extension Homemakers, and Tippecanoe County Extension Homemakers, where she also served as Past President. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and traveling. She spent many hours at baseball fields watching her grandchildren play ball, including Nick Wittgren with the Miami Marlins.

Surviving are two daughters, Taha Marie Schwarz (Michael) and Lisa Wittgren both of Lafayette; two sons, Sidney Marshall Morris ( Amy) of Westfield and Mitchell Joseph Morris (Tina) of Wichita, KS; two sisters, Eleanor Kaye Guarisco (Tony) of Crivitz, WI and Nancy Ann Ley of Bolingbrook, IL as well as a brother, James R. Baker (Cheryl) of Gas City.

Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Kyle, Nicholas and Jackson Wittgren; Levi and Cody Schwarz; Matthew, William, Michael, Samuel and Sophia Morris.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 7th at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 8th at St Ann Catholic Church with Fr Dominic Young officiating. Burial will follow at St Mary Cemetery.
