A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, in Tri City Baptist Temple in Gladstone for May I. Burdette, who died Aug. 19 at age 84.

Mrs. Burdette was born Aug. 9, 1916, in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from the Moody Bible Institute, Oklahoma Baptist University and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary. She was a pastor's wife, and she and her husband served churches in Birmingham, Ala.; Wichita, Kan.; and Riverside, Calif. She taught kindergarten in the churches' schools. Since 1994, she had lived in Milwaukie and was a member of Tri City Baptist Temple. She married the Rev. Lloyd George Burdette in 1936; he died in 1993.

Survivors include her sons, James A. and Robert R.; daughter, Dorothy Young; sister, Margaret Westrom; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City. The family suggests remembrances to Moody Bible Institute, 820 N. LaSalle Blvd., Chicago, IL 60610. Arrangements are by Stehn's Milwaukie Funeral Home.
