Lovie Mae Morgan Herrin, 87, of Waycross died Sunday afternoon (May 17, 2009) at her residence after an extended illness. She was born in Hoboken (Brantley Co) to the late Rubin and Lovie Crews Morgan and lived in Waycross for all of her life. Mrs. Herrin retired in 1981 from the Ware County Board of Education where she was a Dietician at Memorial Drive Elementary School. She was a former president of the Ware County School System Food Association and the DAV where she was very active. Mrs. Herrin loved Crocheting and Bingo and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arney Lee Herrin, Sr.; eight brothers and sisters, Marvin Morgan, Pasco Morgan, Irene Grainger, Jefferson Morgan, Raymond Morgan, Louise Thomas, Rubin Morgan, Jr. and Vivian Dowling.

Survivors include two sons, Arney Lee Herrin, Jr. and his wife Linda, Waycross, Billy Ray Herrin and his wife Becky, Waycross; five grandchildren, Tammy Horlock and her husband Chris, Waycross, Arney Lee Herrin, III and his wife Tammy, Waycross, Rhonda Lee and her husband Billy, Manor, Jennifer Nolen and her husband Jamie, Waycross, Jesse Herrin, Waycross; twelve great-grandchildren, Kristen, Kaitlyn, Destiny, Elizabeth, Emily, Dean, Brianna, Hunter, Ashton, Brayden, Ava and Davin; step-daughter, Judy McWhorter, Jacksonville; step-son, Wayne Price, Augusta, GA; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning at 11 am at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 - 9 pm at the funeral home.
