Mother's death due to head injuries
LOS ANGELES (UPI) -
Mrs. Elizabeth Berg died from head
injuries apparently not connected with the car crash that also killed her infant son, according to an autopsy performed at the coroner's office.
Coroner's deputies said Tuesday the pregnant woman died from "cranial cerebral" injuries. Antborites said the head injuries did not appear to be caused by the plunge of her car over a 300-foot cliff above-San Gabriel Canyon.
Michael Berg Jr., 3, was found last Sunday about onehalf mile from the wreckage suffering from exposure and dehydration.
His father, Los Angeles policeman Michael Berg, was found dead Saturday from what police said was a selfinflicted gunshot wound.
Funeral services for the three members of the Berg family were scheduled today at Rose Hills Cemetery in Whtttier with
policemen serving as pallbearers.
Young Michael told detectives at Glendora Community Hospital, "Daddy hurt me. Mommy was lying in the dirt Daddy hit me." The boy could not answer other questions.
Investigators continued to search for leads in the
case but reported no new does to the family tragedy
